  Series Christmas
Description: Immanuel, God With Us Christmas 2019 1. There is Only One True God Isaiah 45:5 "I am the LORD, and there is no other; Besides Me there is no God. I will gird you, though you have not known Me; 6 That men may know from the rising to the setting of the sun That there is no one besides Me. I am the LORD, and there is no other.” See also Isaiah 44:6 2. There is Only One Savior Isaiah 43:10 "You are My witnesses," declares the LORD, "And My servant whom I have chosen, So that you may know and believe Me And understand that I am He. Before Me there was no God formed, And there will be none after Me. 11 "I, even I, am the LORD, And there is no savior besides Me.” Isaiah 45:21 "Declare and set forth your case; Indeed, let them consult together. Who has announced this from of old? Who has long since declared it? Is it not I, the LORD? And there is no other God besides Me, A righteous God and a Savior; There is none except Me. 22 "Turn to Me and be saved, all the ends of the earth; For I am God, and there is no other. John 14:6 Jesus said to him, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me. 7 "If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also; from now on you know Him, and have seen Him." See also Acts 20:28; Titus 1:1-4, 2:11-14, 3:4-7; 2 Peter 1:1; Jude 25 3. Only God Can Forgive Sins - And Jesus Did It! See Luke 5:20-25 where Jesus heals the paralyzed man and forgives him of his sin 4. What’s in a Name? Everything! See Isaiah 9:6-7 Matthew 1:21 “She will bear a Son; and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins.” 22 Now all this took place to fulfill what was spoken by the Lord through the prophet: 23 “BEHOLD, THE VIRGIN SHALL BE WITH CHILD AND SHALL BEAR A SON, AND THEY SHALL CALL HIS NAME IMMANUEL,” which translated means, “GOD WITH US.” 24 And Joseph awoke from his sleep and did as the angel of the Lord commanded him, and took Mary as his wife, 25 but kept her a virgin until she gave birth to a Son; and he called His name Jesus. Luke 2:10 But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid; for behold, I bring you good news of great joy which will be for all the people; 11 for today in the city of David there has been born for you a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. 12 “This will be a sign for you: you will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a 1manger.” 13 And suddenly there appeared with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying, 14 “Glory to God in the highest, And on earth peace among men with whom He is pleased.” Acts 4:12 “And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must be saved.”

Passage: Luke 2:25-35       Series Christmas
Description: “Finding Fulfillment in God’s Promise Fulfilled!” Luke 2:25-35 Four ways to celebrate and be fulfilled in Jesus Christ this Christmas Simeon saw Jesus when Jesus was just 8 days old! To be fulfilled in Christ, like Simeon, we ... 1. ______________ ___________ to the living God (2:25-26) How does your life live up to this passage? 2. _______________ ____________ the true God (2:27) Are there things you know that God is leading you to do that you are not doing? 3. _____________ Jesus, God’s salvation for all peoples (2:28-32) What is Simeon’s attitude like here? Is your attitude like this? Jesus IS God’s salvation!! See Luke 10: 23; Isaiah 12:2; 60:1-3; Psalm 27:1; 38:22 4. ________ ________ in Jesus regardless of the outcome (2:33-35) If we receive Jesus we have what? If we ‘stumble’ over Jesus we have what? How have you responded to God’s salvation in Jesus? Do you find fulfillment, like Simeon, in God’s fulfillment of His promises?
